An impending retirement has opened the door for a dynamic and experienced sales leader to take a hands-on approach to leading Enercon Industries’ UK and European operations.

THE ROLE:
Enercon Industries Ltd is looking to appoint an experienced, technical sales leader to oversee its UK and European operations, working from its headquarters in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership of Enercon Industries Ltd, and therefore this role encompasses a broad range of functions including sales, marketing, finance, service, production, HR, health and safety, and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding the company towards its growth targets and ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across the sales, marketing, finance, service and production teams, ensuring exceptional service quality and operational efficiency. Ensure annual organisational goals, objectives and targets set by company shareholders are met.
* Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of 10, enabling them to reach their full potential by setting clear expectations and performance goals, including establishing metrics and KPIs. Create a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and high performance.
* Sales & Business Development: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth. Actively drive and engage in business development activities, including speaking at and attending tradeshows, taking part in industry conferences, sales meetings and workshops. Identify key partnerships in the industry and develops strategic partnership opportunities with related manufacturers and suppliers.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal stakeholders (i.e. shareholders and senior leadership team), and external reps, partners, suppliers, and customers. Collaborate closely with Enercon Industries Corporation, the parent company of Enercon Industries Ltd, to align organisational goals, share best practices, and support strategic initiatives that drive company-wide growth and innovation.
* Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial forecasts, and measure performance. Ensure financial targets are met or exceeded through effective cost management and revenue optimisation.
* Product Development: Participate in R&D by helping identify new product ideas, gathering market feedback and spotting trends.
ABOUT YOU:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:
* At least 10 years of professional experience in technical sales, with a proven record of success.
* 5+ years of leadership experience, including direct management of a team.
* A degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing is preferred but not essential.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Strong business acumen and ability to assess market needs, product development opportunities, and competitor activities.
* Technical aptitude and willingness to develop in-depth product knowledge.
* Familiarity with CRM systems (experience with Workbooks or Salesforce is an advantage).
* Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners.
* Experience of European markets and working with external agents and distributors is desirable.
* European language skills would be a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
* Willingness to travel within the UK, Europe, and the US, including occasional weekend travel.
* Must be based within a commutable distance to Aylesbury or be willing to relocate.
