Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based near Cambridge, is looking for a Scientist (T-Cell Engineering) to join their growing research team. Candidates should be comfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic working environment and hold good communication skills to facilitate the necessary close interactions with the internal teams as well as external partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning and execution of a wide range of robust experiments, technical studies, and tasks, working independently based on protocols and in line with departmental objectives.
2. Assaying of our client’s engineered delivery vehicle using flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, and immunofluorescence.
3. Inform and implement the design of novel genetic constructs for use in T Cell engineering.
4. Development of robust T Cell engineering platform.
5. Development of T Cell functionality assays.
6. Cell culture (propagation, banking, characterisation) of cell lines and primary cells.
7. Timely, accurate recording and analysis of results and compliance with data integrity procedures.
8. Timely presentation of data to the department and wider company.
9. Contribution to critical interpretation of data to draw results driven hypotheses, with influence on project/function direction.
It is essential that candidates have the following skills and experience:
1. A PhD with experience in T Cell biology (or equivalent experience gained in industry). Engineering of T Cells for the purpose of CAR-T generation with Lentiviral or CRISPR based systems is a plus.
2. Experience handling and culturing a range of cell lines.
3. Experience with CRISPR based editing of primary human T Cells, both KO and KI.
4. Experience with genetic approaches for quantifying T Cell engineering outcomes.
5. Experience with assays of T Cell functionality and potency, especially in the context of CAR-T.
6. Strong experience with flow cytometry-based assays.
7. Experience with single cell sequencing assay.
8. Fluency in spoken and written English.
9. Proficiency with critical interpretation of data and implementation into an experimental cascade.
10. Communication in a clear, well-structured, and professional manner with key stakeholders within the company on a regular basis.
11. Contribution to authoring of technical and science reports which will feed into IND filings.
12. Aware of the latest scientific literature in company-relevant projects and general scientific areas.
