About the Client
Our client is a leading company in the demolition, waste, recycling, and aggregate industries. As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced HSQE Director to spearhead safety initiatives, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in HSQE performance.
Roles/Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic HSQE plans to achieve industry-leading safety and sustainability standards.
Oversee compliance frameworks and performance monitoring across all business areas.
Lead the development and enforcement of HSQE policies, standards, and procedures.
Drive safety culture initiatives and implement leadership improvement strategies.
Ensure legal and insurance requirements are met through rigorous auditing and assurance activities.
Provide leadership, training, and support for employees and subcontractors in HSQE matters.
Conduct HSE performance reviews, compliance evaluations, and site audits.
Maintain and manage ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 accreditations, as well as external certifications like Constructionline and CHAS.
Analyze performance data, oversee accident investigations, and implement lessons learned.
Recruit, develop, and mentor the HSQE team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Extensive experience in HSQE leadership within demolition, waste, recycling, or aggregate industries.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and sustainability procedures.
Proven ability to lead change management initiatives and implement HSQE strategies.
Experience in overseeing operating permits for recycling, waste, and aggregate sites (preferred).
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and management systems.
