The Electrical and Mechanical Engineers will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for carrying out all maintenance activities on the plant, preventative or reactive, with a strong focus on health and safety requirements being paramount.
The role will effectively and efficiently respond to all operational engineering needs as directed by the Plant Manager to reduce operational downtime.
Main Duties
1. Carry out routine inspections and either repair or report defects to management.
2. Ensure that the current plant equipment is correctly maintained on a day-to-day basis, allowing it to be operated to its maximum efficiency and capability to meet business KPI's.
3. Improve machinery and facilities reliability through maintenance activities, modification, and good engineering practices.
4. Carry out routine maintenance activities ensuring equipment performance is maintained and optimized.
5. Carry out fault-finding and repairs in breakdown situations, using engineering drawings and machine manuals.
6. Assist the team to maintain spare parts stores stock levels and records.
7. Work alongside external suppliers/contractors.
8. Proactively identify potential faults and improvement opportunities on the plant equipment to prevent future failures or to identify more efficient methods of work.
9. Comply fully with all safety instructions, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
10. Carry out any other reasonable job-related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time.
