The role
We are looking to recruit a number of nurses to support our pre-clinical research facility. The role requires you to provide a professional nursing service to support world leading medical research.
Candidates will be employed on a casual basis, with varied hours available.
What will you be doing?
* Working alongside colleagues you will provide essential nursing support to ensure the care and wellbeing of animals in our care.
* Supporting both theatre and after care.
* Supporting the day to day running of the facility in compliance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, relevant Health and Safety and other legislative or policy requirements.
You should apply if
* You have nursing experience in either human or veterinary, or pre-clinical environments with relevant qualifications.
* Experience of working alongside surgeons in theatre and in setting up for cases.
* Good observational skills to recognise early indications of problems that may occur in recovery.
* Good IT skills, and an ability to learn to effectively use new software or IT systems when required.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing tasks at the same time, and to be able to cope under pressure.

* The work is on a casual basis aligned to research schedules.
* Flexibility and evening working will be required in line with case needs.
* Training will be provided.
* £18.78 per hour.
