The Project Lead Engineer will lead the development and implementation of Capital Projects and provide technical & engineering support on the Marlbrook site (and across the UK chocolate network). The role is a key member of the sites Engineering team, and will need to build an understanding of how the equipment on site operates, and work closely with the sites Core team of operators and technicians to ensure that projects on site are carried out in line with Lean 6 Sigma philosophy, and are focussed on meeting the requirements of end users. The role will also require co-operation with the site Safety, Quality and Planning teams to deliver compliant solutions that meet the requirements of a 24/7 food factory operation. To carry out investigation, design, contractor management and engineering project management (including cost and programme management). To act as project leader and manage other department members or contract staff (e.g., process / mechanical / electrical / controls) as part of the project team and work closely with the Site Leadership Team to ensure that engineering solutions support business requirements and fit with the long-term site development plan. This will require a broad range of specialist project management, engineering and people skills. The role holder will directly manage several projects and be responsible for an annual Capital budget of typically £3MM. How you will contribute - Designs for factory and utilityupgrades, replacements and development projects are developed, working closely with the wider site team, and other Subject Matter Experts. - Detailed engineering design and specifications and developed for authorised Capital projects to meet requirements of safety, quality and hygiene at optimum output and efficiency, and lowest cost. - Manage the sites assets in terms of verification & write off with a clear change control process. - Existing practices, methods and technology are challenged and opportunities to reduce all losses are proactively sought. - Gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the crumb manufacturing process, the factory's infrastructure and operation. - Technical & engineering input and support is provided to drive the site's operational performance objectives. - Tender packages are prepared and reviewed, tender returns are evaluated, peer reviews conducted, and commercial terms are negotiated. - Solutions to problems are recommended so that they can be designed out to reduce operating costs, improve product quality, and improve safety performance. - Project costs are managed using ERP tools (SAP and Coupa) and capital spend is managed and forecast. - Coaching, development & support is provided to members of the Team, the factory Core team and others on site (and to the wider Mondelez organisation if required / appropriate). - Become a key player in the site Engineering team and work with them to resolve problems on site and ensure that all projects delivered are truly end to end. - Manage contractors to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards with minimal disruption to the process. - Support and expertise in the application of GMP and Sanitary design standards across the sites is provided, developing and sharing best practices across the MEU network - Work with Cluster,BU and Regional teams to align Capital plans across the wider Mondelez group, and be a key contact for members of these wider teams. W hat you will bring A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge: - Desire to be part of a small team working together to identify and reduce losses across the site. - A "hands on" approach to project engineering backed up by sound technical knowledge. - Excellent written and verbal communicator in both technical and non-technical settings. - Ability to motivate and develop onsite personnel and communicate across a broad range of levels and functional areas. - Ability to organise your own time, manage your own agenda around site priorities. - Demonstrable experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry, preferably food, beverages or pharmaceutical. - Significant experience in the identification and delivery of Capital projects above a value of £1MM. - Demonstrated experience in project delivery in high volume manufacturing environments. - Demonstrable continual professional development - Computer skills -ACAD, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Microsoft Word), graphics (PowerPoint), SAP, PLC Software (Rockwell preferable) & SCADA screens.
