My client is a £215m turnover niche civils principal contractor who specializes specifically in tunneling. They're a family-owned business with a well-established name in the industry using positive reinforcement with high expectations to encourage a high output work environment.
The Commercial Manager is expected to oversee a handful of projects concurrently, which currently includes 3 spread across Kent and Surrey. You will direct a handful of Quantity Surveyors on each project and report to the Commercial Director. As well as project management, you will also be expected to participate in the company's business development and strategic planning.
A great opportunity for a striving young professional to progress up the ladder of their career. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years exposure in the commercial industry including 2-3 years minimum as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, having experience overseeing a small team. You will likely have worked within the civil engineering industry with expertise across NEC contracts.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing up to 5 Quantity Surveyors
2. Dealing with client engagement and negotiations/troubleshooting
3. Reporting up and down stream
4. Monthly CVR's
5. Supporting with pre-construction business development and tenders
6. Supporting in strategic planning to grow the business
