Adored Animals Pet Services is seeking a reliable and dedicated Dog Walker / Pet care specialist to join our team. This role is more than just walking dogs and visiting pets; it’s about upholding our brand’s reputation for excellence, ensuring the well-being of pets, and providing exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dog Walking:
o Safely walk up to 6 dogs at once, ensuring their well-being and providing appropriate exercise and stimulation.
o Select safe and engaging walking routes, avoiding hazardous areas.
o Monitor dog behaviour, addressing any issues promptly and ensuring peaceful group dynamics.
o Walk multiple miles each day, often in varying weather conditions.
2. Drop-in Visits:
o Visit cats and other species to care for, cleaning trays etc.
3. Transportation:
o Safely transport dogs to and from their homes, ensuring punctuality and communication of expected arrival times.
4. House-sitting:
o When a client is away for holiday or events you may be asked to stay in the owners home to look after their pets and home.
o This can be overnight stays or just a day/evening sit.
5. Safety and Well-Being:
o Ensure the safety of all dogs during walks, providing water breaks and monitoring for signs of overheating or overexertion.
o Handle dogs with varying temperaments and sizes, ensuring peaceful group dynamics and managing any behavioral issues.
o Administer basic first aid and medication as required, following safety protocols.
6. Communication with Owners:
o Provide regular, real-time feedback to dog owners about their pets’ behavior, including photos and videos during walks.
o Report any injuries, health concerns, or unusual behavior observed during the walk.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and preferences.
7. Administrative Duties:
o Keep accurate records of walk durations, routes taken, and any incidents.
o Coordinate schedules with clients and other team members, ensuring flexibility to accommodate last-minute changes.
o Manage client keys securely, following all safety protocols related to transporting and securing homes.
8. Additional Responsibilities:
o Conduct meet-and-greets with new clients and their pets.
o Handle emergency situations involving pets, remaining calm under pressure.
o Participate in ongoing training, including emergency canine first-aid.
o Work across other sectors of the business, home sitting, drop-in visits etc.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in dog handling or a similar role is preferred.
2. Experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial.
3. Must have professional or personal experience with pets, supported by an outstanding cover letter.
Skills:
1. Physical fitness to handle large dogs and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and consistent updates to clients.
3. Problem-solving abilities to manage emergencies and dog behavior.
4. High level of emotional intelligence and resilience, with the ability to handle complex and stressful situations.
5. Time management skills, particularly in managing a dynamic schedule and client expectations.
6. Must have latest smartphone or recent generation smartphone with high quality image capacity, must be able to use our client management app and take photos proficiently.
Driving Requirements:
1. Valid UK manual driver’s license with a clean driving record.
2. Access to use and transport dogs in your own vehicle.
Other Requirements:
1. Must have a clean DBS check.
2. Personal public liability insurance is required.
3. This role requires utmost flexibility to cater to last minute bookings requests from clients.

Working Hours:
Standard working hours are typically 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Flexibility is required, with occasional days extending to 5:00 PM or weekend availability based on client bookings.
We guarantee a minimum of 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours. This job is NOT suitable for people with outside commitments.
