Senior Account Manager at Venesky-Brown Recruitment
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis on a salary of £45,585 - £54,395/annum. This role will be hybrid based – remote working will be considered.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and submit all the organisation’s Financial Reporting, including preparation of Statutory Accounts, and financial returns.
2. Responsible for the external audit, and key liaison with external auditors.
3. Review of quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including responsibility for monthly Investment portfolio reconciliations and related adjustments.
4. Prepare and submit other taxation returns, including quarterly VAT, and annual Corporation Tax. Assist payroll officer with Pension Reporting.
5. Prepare and submit annual TRAC returns, and in liaison with senior staff, ensure workload plan data is consistent with this.
6. Oversee the organisation’s Capital Reporting, including maintaining the asset register and physical verification of assets.
7. Prepare/report monthly cashflow forecasts, including Capital spend forecasts, and advise on investing surplus funds via bank/term deposit opportunities.
8. Responsibility for authorisation of payment files, including BACs and any other payments.
9. Undertake due diligence of partner/potential partners, liaising with the International Office, through review of their financial statements/provided data, and communicate this back through committee structure.
10. Liaise with external employment, tax/VAT advisors to answer ad hoc internal queries/assurance requirements throughout the year, providing/organising training as required.
11. Provide ad hoc support to other members within the organisation as required.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Financial Accounting Qualification or Qualified by experience.
2. Advanced Excel skills, with experience of data manipulation/pivot tables.
3. Up to date Knowledge of VAT, ideally within a partial exemption environment and knowledge of other taxation areas, including Corporation Tax, and Pensions.
4. Up to date experience of Statutory reporting, and Financial Accounts preparation.
5. Experience of cashflow monitoring and reporting, including review of investment opportunities, taking account of fund availability/capital spend.
6. Previous Management Accounting experience, and understanding of month end and year end procedures.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to lead a team including direct line management responsibility.
9. Ability to manage own time to ensure deadlines are met.
10. Previous experience of capital reporting, including maintenance of Fixed Asset register.
11. Previous experience of Financial investment reporting, including reporting of monthly movements and gains/losses.
12. Experience of overseeing External audit, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
