The Performance Services team in London provides reporting and analysis for all pooled and segregated accounts managed in London & New York. The team generates reporting for clients, prospective clients and internal management teams detailing and breaking down the level of return achieved in each of the portfolios managed by the firm.
This role is responsible for supporting the team in delivering accurate and reliable performance reporting and analysis to internal clients, including fund managers, product managers, and client directors, in a timely manner. Additionally, it involves supporting the reporting of specialised asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Commodities, EMD, and Property through our official performance system, B-One.
The programme
You will join Schroders as a permanent employee and start your career in our Operations Academy, which currently runs for 18-24 months. During this time you will study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate, learn on the job and have access to a wide range of soft skill training courses.
Investment20/20
You will join as an Operations Academy Trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees across the industry and participate in training, socials and insight events.
What you'll do
1. Commit to continuous learning by attending training sessions that cover performance measurement techniques, presentation standards and industry developments.
2. Commit to working towards the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC).
3. Ongoing enhancement of knowledge relating to investment strategies and associated attribution requirements.
4. Engage with the Fund and Product Managers to develop reporting solutions for new products and to enhance offerings for existing complex products.
5. Maintain updated procedure notes covering general processes around new functionality as it arises.
6. Completion of daily/weekly/monthly data sourcing and validation tasks.
7. Ensure performance reports are calculated in accordance with procedures and delivered within agreed service levels.
8. Quality assurance of output from performance systems, resolution of issues, including escalation to Team Manager where appropriate.
9. Resolution of queries within acceptable timeframes.
10. Liaise with peers in team and internal clients to deliver service to acceptable quality.
11. Complete tasks within agreed deadlines. Ensure any missed deadlines are communicated and recorded appropriately.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that'll help
1. Any experience which demonstrates good communication, analytical skills, and working well within a team environment.
2. Proficient in basic software notably Excel.
3. Keenness to innovate and improve processes.
4. Experience of prioritising workload, demonstrating a keen eye for detail, problem solving and confidence in communicating.
5. Being organised and taking the initiative.
You must be at least 18 years old by the start date of the programme to apply for the advertised intake. You will need to study for your CISI Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate outside of normal office hours.
