Pound Cashier & Enforcement Officer NSL, part of Marston Holdings, is a leading provider of outsourced business services to both public and private sectors, including parking and street management solutions. We are now looking for a combined Pound Cashier and Enforcement Officer to join our team at the DVLA Plymouth site. As a Pound Cashier and Enforcement Officer, you will primarily focus on cashier duties, ensuring smooth financial transactions and administration within the DVLA Pound. In addition, you will also perform enforcement duties when required. This dual role is integral to the operation of the Pound and will require you to balance customer service with administrative and enforcement responsibilities. What you will be doing: Act as the first point of contact for members of the public needing assistance with vehicle releases. Process payments for clamped and removed vehicles accurately, entering transaction details into the system. Manage cash and reconcile payments, maintaining accurate records in line with company policy. Assist with administrative tasks, including daily logs, paperwork processing, and filing documentation correctly. Ensure all cash handling and reconciliation procedures are followed to maintain the financial integrity of the operation. Work closely with the Pound Manager to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with operational standards. Enforcement Duties: Operate the ANPR vehicle to locate untaxed vehicles and take enforcement action (clamping/removal) in compliance with DVLA regulations. Engage with vehicle owners when enforcement actions are required, explaining processes clearly and professionally. Manage enforcement paperwork, including ticketing and photographic evidence. Perform enforcement duties as needed, on a rotational or as-required basis, ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation standards. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with any queries related to vehicle clamping, removal, or payments. Address customer complaints or concerns in a calm and efficient manner, ensuring they feel supported and respected throughout the process. Qualifications and Skills: GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent). Numeracy and literacy skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in conflict resolution and avoidance. Ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly in enforcement situations. Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts, to meet operational requirements. Flexibility to undertake enforcement duties as needed, ensuring compliance with DVLA regulations. Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks alongside enforcement responsibilities. Ability to handle sensitive data with respect to the Data Protection Act and company security policies. Working Environment: This is a customer-facing role that requires effective communication and strong interpersonal skills. You will work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
