Specialist Safety Risk Assessor
Homebased with travel across the South of England
Contract: 3-6 months (3-4 days per week)
Rate: Circa £450 a day, outside IR35 (DoE)
A leading rail operating company is seeking an experienced Safety Risk Assessor to support the delivery of lithium-ion battery risk assessments across their network. This is inclusive of office spaces, depots and warehouses. This short-term contract (3-6 months) offers a flexible 3-4 day work week and the opportunity to work with a major transport provider, developing a niche and high in demand skill.
Responsibilities of the Specialist Safety Risk Assessor will include:
Conducting risk assessments and advising on best practices related to lithium-ion battery use, storage, and management within a rail environment.
Identifying and mitigating fire, thermal runaway, and other safety risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.
Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Providing recommendations and developing risk management strategies for battery usage across trains, depots, and infrastructure.
Supporting training initiatives and raising awareness of lithium-ion battery hazards among staff.The successful Specialist Safety Risk Assessor will have:
