The role We’re currently recruiting for a Lead Review Actuary to join our BPA Onboarding Team within Open Actuarial Reporting & Change to provide a professional service applying actuarial, technical & business knowledge to support the delivery of informed & effective decision making in order to deliver the company strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead on a range of activity to support the Bulk Purchase Annuity business including onboarding schemes on to our actuarial modelling and data systems.
2. Act as actuarial subject matter expert on bulk purchase annuities.
3. Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
4. Lead, develop, coach and mentor actuarial trainees and analysts as required to maximise their contribution.
5. Contribute to the preparation of papers and reports for senior management as required.
6. Continually look to enhance processes and procedures to deliver effective solutions for the business.
7. Maintaining up to date regulatory, business & professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
8. Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.
9. Balancing business demand, issues and risks by applying sound judgement in complex scenarios, often with considerable uncertainty.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a qualified Actuary with experience in actuarial reporting and modelling with subject matter expertise in bulk purchase annuities (or DB pensions).
Knowledge of financial reporting metrics, including SII is highly desirable, as is experience of working in actuarial change delivery.
Someone who is keen to learn quickly in a changing environment having a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement will fit well with the role.
You will have an ability to build strong relationships and drive action through influence and collaboration across boundaries, combined with experience and ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues and senior stakeholders from different disciplines across the business.
