LPE are currently recruiting an AM applications Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will work within a team of Additive Manufacturing experts reporting to the Engineering Director Main duties and responsibilities Programming/preparing customer 3D models for 3D Printing Reviewing customer files for technical feasibility and making recommendations to customer to ensure parts are optimised for 3d printing processes. Supporting sales team during technical discussion with customers. Problem solving engineering challenges unique to the 3D Printing processes Help optimise the 3D Printing processes to reduce manufacturing times and improve quality Adherence to company quality systems IS9001/ISO13485/AS9100. Working with quality manager to help with implantation of process improvements and also to resolve non conformances. Assist with internal and external R&D projects Assist with internal and external testing requirements including mechanical, chemical and physical inspection. Carry out internal calibration and organise calibration and maintenance with OEMs. Essential Requirements BSc Eng. (2:1) Minimum in a related discipline with 3 years experience or HND Engineering with 6 years experience Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and fluent in English Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Creative thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to multitask and prioritise Have a passion for finding solutions to technical challenging problems Desirable Strong understanding of plastic and metal material requirements. Metallurgy experience would be considered particularly advantageous Experience in 3D CAD package or CNC CAM package.
