We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leeds, a Category B men's prison located in Leeds
Working for a really positive, rewarding and busy team working on complex cases with lots of multi-agency working. Lots of on-site training opportunities with good career development in this team.
Hours
hours per week working 8-4pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend working and when site is fully staffed it will be 1 in 8. No night working.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £48,741per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. Working in our integrated mental health team you will be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
2. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
3. You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
4. Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
5. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications required
13. Registered nurse Mental Health
14. Current professional qualification (NMC)
15. Evidence of Continued Professional Development
16. Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
17. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework, along with national standards such as NICE
20. Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
