The Horton General Hospital, Banbury is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Portering team as a Flexible Hours Shift Porter.
The position will require the post holder to work various hours across a 24hr rota which includes nights, weekends, and bank holidays, these will be paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
Main duties of the job
You will be supporting the shift-based Portering Team, providing 24hr Portering support to all wards and departments across the site.
The ideal candidate will live within 30 minutes travelling time to the hospital site.

The position will require the post holder to work various hours across a 24hr rota which could include nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Weekday night, Saturday, Sunday, and Bank holiday shifts will be paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
The ideal candidate must be able to use their own initiative when working alone or as part of a team and must also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, show a flexible approach to work and be willing to work when required – this can be at short notice.

Knowledge & Skills
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Able to work with a diverse range of people, e.g. nursing staff, facilities staff, clinical staff, patients, visitors, general public.
* Able to use own initiative within the duties of the post.
* Able to record information accurately.
* Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
* Numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 1.
* Basic understanding of health and safety.
* Respect for patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
* Team player.
* Able to undertake the physical duties of the role.
* Commitment to working the hours to fulfil the requirements of the job, including flexibility of working, where required.
* Able to organise a team if required.
* Basic computer skills.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level.
* NVQ Level 2 in support services in healthcare.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
