Axcis Education is seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant who has experience working with children with special educational needs. This role involves providing 1:1 or small group support to secondary-aged pupils.
Responsibilities:
1. Help build student confidence and self-esteem, inspiring them to learn and develop into successful and resilient young adults.
2. Assist students in achieving the highest possible levels of academic and personal attainment through fostering excellent working relationships.
3. Be self-critical and respond professionally to feedback on performance.
4. Forge positive professional relationships.
Qualifications:
1. Hold a Level 2 teaching assistant qualification or higher, with experience of working in schools or with pupils.
2. Ideally have experience of working with and supporting children with SEN in a school setting.
3. Have an understanding of the National Curriculum and issues surrounding SEMH children, and possess good behaviour management skills.
The successful applicant will have a passion for working with children with additional needs and be a positive role model. You must also have an enhanced DBS on the updated service or be willing to process a new one.
