We have an exciting opportunity for a Demolition Project Manager to join #TeamWalters! Walters are a market leading civil engineering and demolition contractor employing more than 800 people. We specialise in the self-delivery of high-quality civil engineering and demolition projects for a range of public and private sector clients. We are seeking a hands-on, dynamic and driven individual who wants to join our team and be part of our success. The successful applicant will be highly motivated and practical and have a strong track record within the demolition industry. You will be based on site and report directly to the contract manager or director. The successful candidate will work alongside the Works Manager or Site Supervisor to manage and deliver demolition projects. You will enjoy freedom within your role and a clear path to progress your career.
Key Responsibilities
* To ensure that a “safety first” attitude underpins all operations
* Prepare risk assessments and method statements
* Prepare construction phase plans and environmental management plans
* Plan ahead to ensure that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner to meet the project programme
* Ensure environmental protection measures are implemented where appropriate
* Proactively identify problems so that effective mitigation can be put in place
* Ensure that plant, labour, subcontract and material resources are arranged in a timely manner
* Maintain good relations with clients, suppliers and stakeholders
* Ensure that the highest standard of work is produced by employees and sub-contractors
* Monitor and review progress to ensure compliance with budget and programme
Qualifications and Capabilities
* Track record of experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager within the demolition industry.
* CCDO Demolition Manager (Black card) preferrable.
* SMSTS
* Asbestos Awareness or CAT B
* Strong leadership skills
* Good organisational skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills – communicating and listening
* Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Use of MS Project preferrable
* Strong commercial awareness
* Resilience when working to fixed deadlines and managing risk
Preference will be given to candidates who satisfy the above and who also have experience of ‘work winning’ including pricing and bid writing for demolition tenders.
