This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner or an experienced Specialty Doctor/Associate Specialist to contribute to the work of the children in care team in adoption and fostering in Derbyshire.
The successful applicant will be a member of the Children in Care (CIC) services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital (CRH) NHS Foundation Trust.
The role involves reviewing medicals undertaken by GPs in Derbyshire for adults who are applying to become adoptive parents or foster carers and the provision of written medical advice regarding their medical suitability (identifying any health concerns) to the local authority for foster carer or special guardianship applications or Adoption East Midlands for prospective adopters.
The salary scale will be in accordance with current salary.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
* GMC GP Specialist Registration or at least 3 years post Foundation Training experience in Medicine
Experience
* Experience in General Practice/or experience in adult Medicine
* At least 3 years post Foundation Training experience in Medicine
Skills
* APLS and NLS
* Able to interpret health reports and initiate requests for further health-related information from appropriate sources, as required.
* Ability to analyse and evaluate information
* Understanding of the impact of adult health (physical, mental and emotional) and lifestyle on parenting.
