We are recruiting a Senior Account Manager on behalf of an ambitious, growing agency hungry to succeed and excel. The Senior Account Manager (SAM) will manage the day-to-day relationship between our client and its clients, working closely with Account Directors, senior colleagues, and clients to oversee projects at both a macro and micro level. The role involves delivering client requirements to an exacting standard within required timeframes while also driving client strategy and account growth. The SAM must balance a hands-on approach with leadership responsibilities, guiding junior team members in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. This role requires the ability to think strategically while multitasking in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging, and proactive environment. The SAM will provide strategic guidance, manage key relationships, and ensure projects are executed to the highest standard. As an agency, our client holds itself to high standards, expecting the SAM to perform under pressure, build client trust, and provide leadership and mentorship to the account management team. You will be recognised as a “dynamic but safe pair of hands,” fully accountable to clients, and proactive in identifying growth opportunities within accounts. Account Manager responsibilities: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic recommendations to enhance project outcomes and long-term account growth. Develop and sustain deep relationships with key decision-makers. Provide leadership and guidance to junior account managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Take full ownership of larger, more complex accounts, managing them from initial brief to successful delivery. Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities within existing client relationships. Lead financial forecasting, project profitability assessments, and manage budgets with a focus on meeting and exceeding financial targets. Knowledge, skills and experience required: A degree-level qualification - 2:1 preferred A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a client-facing role, preferably within a design, marketing communications, or PR agency, with demonstrated success in leading larger or more complex accounts. Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop junior team members. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and project profitability at a senior level. A proactive, strategic thinker with a proven track record of growing client accounts and exceeding targets. Excellent organisation skills with a very high attention to detail. Clear and concise communicator who is an active listener as well as a talker. Outstanding client services skills, with a thorough understanding of the value of building brilliant, performance-based client relationships. A positive, can-do attitude; will always go the extra mile for clients and the company.
