We are looking to appoint an outstanding Early Years Teaching Assistant who can inspire, engage and motivate children at the Old Vicarage School to reach their full potential.
The Old Vicarage School is a family-run, independent preparatory day school for boys and girls in the beautiful suburb of Darley Abbey, Derby. Children age from 3 – 11 years old. We have a maximum of 16 children in our Nursery Class and 18 in Reception. Our school motto translates to ‘Character and Kindness’, which is at the heart of all we do.
The Early Years Department is an integral part of the school community, participating in the House System and whole school events, including Sports Day, Verse Speaking and themed days, amongst others. Almost all the Reception Class pupils begin their OVS journey in the Nursery Class.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person, qualified to at least Level 3. We offer an exciting, varied curriculum which raises achievement for all children in our care. You should have;
• experience of planning and evaluating as appropriate
• up to date knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile
• demonstrable understanding of effective practice, the primary curriculum and the need for good record keeping and assessment.
• knowledge of the revised KCSIE Sep 2024 (essential)
• familiarity with IT software including MS Teams, Powerpoint and Tapestry would be an advantage.
This is a full time position, working from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday of term time, plus an additional 20 days per year (set in advance).
