Salary: £42,917 - £49,133 per annum (pro rata - only if part time)

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Auditor to join our Internal Audit, Risk and Insurance Team.
We are looking for someone who is qualified and experienced, who maintains a resilient and positive growth mind-set at all times.
You will be a strong team player, with excellent supervisory and mentoring skills, and will be a great role model to our junior colleagues.
You will have significant experience of conducting a diverse range of both risk-based internal audits and consultancy reviews, ideally within the public sector.
You will have experience of contributing towards the creation and review of the rolling risk-based Internal Audit plan.
You will lead by example, be an inspirational role model to others and have strong communication and inter-personnel skills.

You will have a passion for and experience of contributing towards our ambition of building a cohesive and effective Internal Audit team, which is compliant with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (2017) + Global Internal Audit Standards (2024).
You will be highly effective at building professional and constructive relationships with key stakeholders, with a key focus on collaboration, adding value and supporting services and Thurrock Council through its journey of improvement.

The Senior Auditor role will be the subject of a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

* Public Sector Internal Audit Standards + Global Internal Audit Standards
* Experience of leading, mentoring, supervising and training junior colleagues
* Experience of building and maintaining effective and constructive relationships with colleagues, clients and Members
