ASSISTANT FM MANAGER – FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
BEDFORDSHIRE
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Specialist Services Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Bedfordshire area for this role.
1. Provide day to day supervision of Site Engineers and deal with all enquiries to the Project office made by Clients, Customers, Galliford Try staff.
2. Ensure the provision of services as provided by the Site Engineers at all levels are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the roles and in accordance with all Health and Safety regulations and GT standards.
3. Carry out audits of all soft service sub-contractors across all applicable GTFM projects to ensure all current legislation, regulations and GT standards are being met.
4. Ensure that all contractors engaged by GTFM on site carry out works in accordance with all Health and Safety regulations and GT standards in respect of job required.
5. Review works carried out by all GTFM subcontractors and monitor standards being delivered.
6. Monitor the reporting of events and tasks to the Help Desk and follow through the same to completion.
7. Monitor and ensure that the Health and Safety checks (Fire Systems, Emergency Lighting, Fire appliances, Water Systems) that are carried out by the Site Engineers and the completion of associated paperwork for records is completed.
8. Monitor and ensure all actions identified from subcontractors service/inspections reports are actioned as appropriate.
9. Liaise with School Head Teachers, Teaching Staff and other Client Representatives as required.
10. Ensure the provision of cover for Site Engineers on other schools within the project during periods of sickness and holidays as directed by the GTFM Line Manager when the need arises.
11. Develop and participate in the training of new employees engaged by GTFM in the role of a Site Engineer.
12. Participate in and respond to out of hour’s issues and emergencies at schools within the project.
13. Cover for the Facilities Manager within the project during periods of sickness and holidays.
14. Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of the Project where required including producing reports, Life cycle planning etc.
15. Assist site engineers with physical aspects when required on an ad hoc basis.
16. Review materials used by Site Engineers in the course of their duties to comply with COSHH Regulations and ensure stock levels are maintained on sites, as applicable to the service delivery.
17. Deal with electronic communications and undertake typing services as required in accordance with Galliford Try policies.
18. Ensure PTW are completed as required for certain works.
19. Ensure NEMOS and SBD’s are being logged where required on the reporting app.
About You:
1. Enhanced DBS check required.
2. Experience of using Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word.
3. Previous experience within a similar industry, working on tools and can carry out tasks without close supervision.
4. A full driving license is required for this role as you will attend multiple sites.
5. Previous experience working in FM/school maintenance is essential for this role.
6. Construction experience would be ideal but not essential.
