Permanent Group Buyer required for locally homegrown business based in Portadown. Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities across various departments ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards. This role involves developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and aligning purchasing strategies with the companys business objectives. Duties will include: Procurement Management: Develop and execute procurement strategies for the group, focusing on cost reduction and quality improvement. Coordinate purchasing activities across departments or subsidiaries to leverage economies of scale. Source and procure goods and services, ensuring timely delivery to meet operational needs. Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers. Negotiate favourable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service. Inventory and Cost Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality. Prepare and manage the procurement budget. Contract and Compliance Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical standards and industry regulations. Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with other departments to understand their procurement needs and challenges. Provide regular reports on procurement performance, savings achieved, and supplier evaluations. Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects. Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, emerging suppliers, and pricing fluctuations. Conduct benchmarking to ensure the company secures the best deals. Essential Criteria: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within an SME setting. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
