About the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) SPA is a groundbreaking initiative that connects communities and creates a resilient, efficient water network. It’s more than just an infrastructure project – it’s a critical step in achieving Anglian Water’s vision of sustainability and net-zero carbon by 2030. As an Estimator, you’ll be a vital part of the SPA’s success, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality delivery across projects like pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and water treatment plants. What You’ll Do 1. Provision of Estimates Develop CAPEX estimates at every project stage, from optioneering to detailed target cost estimates Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand and quantify scope Liaise with supply chain partners, including vendors and subcontractors, to develop cost estimates Use estimating software and MS Excel to create accurate, data-driven estimates 2. Estimating Systems Master the systems used for preparing estimates and contribute to improving processes Identify best practices and recommend efficiencies to enhance performance 3. Developing Cost Models Support SPA’s digital delivery and standardisation initiatives by developing cost models for repeated project elements Work with 3D computer models to quantify and understand project scope 4. Maintaining Cost Base Update and verify the estimating database with current quotations Review and refine labour, plant, and material resource libraries 5. Supporting Commercial Team & Cost Capture Collaborate with Cost Managers to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to cost management Ensure estimates are coded and structured to meet Anglian Water’s cost capture requirements What We’re Looking For Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Engineering or Quantity Surveying degree, or relevant estimating experience Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or process plant estimating Knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical, or process control disciplines Desirable: Familiarity with estimating software Background in building services or facilities management Skills: Strong numerate and analytical abilities Excellent communication and motivational skills Team player with a proactive approach to deadlines Advanced proficiency in MS Office and estimating software A commitment to learning and self-improvement Why Join SPA?
