Job summary We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced person for the post of Senior Dental Officer. You will be working to lead on the delivery of dental care to Special care patients including provision of treatment under sedation and general anaesthesia. You will provide clinical leadership in Special Care Dentistry including the development of relevant protocols and the training and mentoring of staff. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate clinical leadership. Candidates will have drive and enthusiasm for service development and improvement to include teaching, supervision and line management. They will independently provide dental care under sedation in the community setting, participate in the theatre lists at local hospitals for the provision of treatment under GA and they will have a commitment to provide domiciliary care. You will be joining Dental Services during an exciting time as the Community Dental Services across Thames Valley are currently working closely together to move towards an Integrated Dental Care Service to provide improved patient care for vulnerable groups across the Thames Valley. The postholder will work in Buckinghamshire providing clinical care, peer support and supervision. Candidates will be expected to hold Bachelor in Dental Surgery or equivalent, hold a relevant postgraduate qualification and have full GDC registration.
