An exciting opportunity has arisen join the Maternity Support Worker (MSW) team at UHNM. This is a rotational post and the successful candidate will be expected to work across all areas of maternity. You can expect to be rotated around areas on a planned rotation but you may also be asked to support in an area you are competent in on ad-hoc basis to ensure the safe running of the service Main duties of the job Under direct or non-direct supervision of a Registered Midwife/Nurse as deemed appropriate will assist with all aspects of essential patient care. Provision of personal care to patients. Respect patient privacy and dignity at all times Prepare equipment for medical and nursing staff for procedures Assist medical and midwifery/nursing staff with procedures as required Act as a chaperone supporting patients undergoing examinations or procedures Escort patients to other areas of the Trust as directed by the Registered Midwife/Nurse Undertake observations of inpatient, catheter care, venepuncture, ECG, breast feeding assistance, baby cares as requested by the Registered Midwife About us University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
