Our Sandy Springs office is seeking an experienced Dam Engineer with 5+ years in the water resource engineering field and a Professional Engineering (PE) license. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee complex, high-impact dam projects from concept through construction, while mentoring a dynamic team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a deep understanding of dam safety, and a passion for client engagement. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards.
What You Will Do:
* Lead Dam Projects: Manage all phases of dam-related projects, from initial design and permitting to construction oversight and final inspection.
* Field & Sitework: Travel across Georgia to conduct fieldwork, ensuring quality control during inspections, construction observations, and material testing.
* Engineering Excellence: Develop and review detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and specifications to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
* Construction Support: Provide ongoing design support during construction, promptly addressing issues and ensuring projects stay on track.
* Project Management: Oversee project budgets, manage invoicing, allocate resources, and ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
* Client Development: Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to business development initiatives.
* Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and enhancing the team’s technical capabilities.
* Dam Safety & Compliance: Conduct dam safety inspections, assess compliance with regulations, and develop maintenance and improvement plans.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with state and federal standards, including safety regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental considerations.
What You Bring:
* Experience: 5+ years working in a consulting firm
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
* Licensing: Florida PE license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
