The opportunity We’re looking for a talented Junior Test Analyst, with at least 1 year’s experience in a web-based software testing environment to join the FFT QA Team. This is an exciting time to work with FFT as we continue to invest in FFT Product suite by expanding the range of features and products for customers, improving the platform and exploiting cloud technologies including serverless, big data and machine learning. You will be self-motivated, passionate about technology with the ability to rapidly learn new and emerging technologies. You will also have a proven track record of delivering high quality software delivery projects within a team environment. You will be self-organising and able to handle the pressure of delivery deadlines. The QA team works with the development and product teams to understand customer requirements and design and implement innovative and robust software solutions. We use Agile Scrum Methodology to deliver in fortnightly sprints and this incremental delivery means we have rapid release cycles (usually multiple releases per week). The role Reporting to the QA Manager, you will be responsible for testing and assuring quality of all new and existing FFT software products. The key responsibilities for this post are to: Creating & Executing test scripts Raising, prioritising, and communicating defects Participating in daily scrum stand-ups Skills, knowledge & experience Essential: Minimum 1 year in a Test Analyst role within a software development team (ideally web applications) A good understanding of the software development process (Agile Scrum Methodology or similar) Self-motivation with good peer engagement and key stake holder management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication SQL (ability to write and execute SQL queries) Defect triage skills Experience of working with Test techniques such as Black box, Functional, Regression, Risk based and requirements driven techniques Desirable: Any experience developing on AWS platforms Advanced ISTQB Advanced Level Experience of writing automative testing framework (Selenium) Experience of working within an Agile Environment (specifically scrum) Data testing skills (ideally in EdTech sector) Knowledge of C# API testing Any experience of non functional testing (EG API, Security, Performance) Bonus: Any education industry experience Hours of work This is a full time position, 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary The salary range for this role is £22,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending upon experience. Location The role is hybrid, meaning some work can be carried out from home if desired. For the first 3 months, you’ll be expected to work from either our Cowbridge or London office 2-3 days a week to enable you to fully integrate into the development team and receive the training and coaching that you’ll need to be successful in the role. Beyond that, the team works from the office at least 1 day per week.
