Are you interested in leading cutting-edge projects at the intersection of epigenetics, metabolism, and leukaemia progression, leveraging advanced functional genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics approaches to develop novel therapeutic strategies for leukaemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs)?
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will participate in the Ludwig Cancer Research funded project led by Prof Shi, to investigate how metabolic and epigenetic rewiring influences leukaemia progression under genetic or pharmacological interventions. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities which involve small scale project management, coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will design and perform original research using in vivo disease modelling, including PDX and in vivo models, and in vitro studies utilising primary patient samples. This role also includes supervising and training junior staff in epigenetic techniques and operating laboratory equipment used for all aspects of cell/molecular biology/biochemistry.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close completion) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer research or a related life science field, together with a background in blood cancer research and functional genomics (CRISPR, shRNA), and molecular biology. You will have experience with in vivo/in vitro experimental models and working with primary patient samples and patient derived xenografts. In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings. Experience working with high-throughput sequencing methods, including bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, is desirable.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online, and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.
