Exciting Opportunity: Marine Works Lead at the Civil Works Alliance Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the future of clean energy? We’re recruiting for a Marine Works Lead to join our team at the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) and lead the offshore works for the ground-breaking Sizewell C project. As part of the CWA, you will help deliver Sizewell C, a major 3.2-gigawatt power station that will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. This ambitious project is at the forefront of the UK’s energy future, and we’re looking for a highly skilled individual to lead the development of marine construction sequences, offshore logistics, and engineering methods that will be crucial to its success. In this role, you will: Lead the design and development of offshore works, including vessel navigation, heavy lifting, and large-diameter drilling. Oversee technical solutions, ensuring they meet safety, compliance, and value-for-money criteria. Manage a dedicated team of engineers and collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure technical integrity across the project. Take ownership of the offshore construction methodologies and be a key decision-maker in the successful delivery of the project. Responsible for providing relevant inputs to the Clients’ Designer’s teams in relation to their scope of works. Review the Clients’ Design to ensure buildability and compatibility of the Design to the agreed methods of works. Review and advise on requirements/solutions in relation to various licenses and consents including Development Consent Order and Deemed Marine Licenses. Responsible for providing relevant information to the other portions where scopes interface, in a timely manner. Provide inputs and support procurement and commercial teams with contract award to relevant subcontractors and suppliers where they support the development of the technical solutions. Manage subcontractors and suppliers’ ECI works and outputs. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience in nearshore/offshore projects. Significant exposure in a leadership role. Strong technical knowledge in marine construction, logistics, and temporary works. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in CAD (Autocad, Revit) and Microsoft Office. A strategic mindset to develop solutions that support the long-term success of the project. Desirable Chartered Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or other relevant professional Institution Design experience of offshore temporary works.
