Brief Description
Route Services is a division of Network Rail that provides the Routes with services so they can help Network Rail deliver a better railway for a better Britain. This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
CS - Engineering is composed of highly qualified engineers with years of experience in the rail sector, certified in multiple disciplines, and backed by strong problem-solving capabilities. We combine technical proficiency with an in-depth understanding of the rail industry's evolving needs, delivering projects that are both timely and cost-effective ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

* Managing design integration and construction processes.
* Risk management, budget control, and regulatory compliance.

* On Track Plant Management & Assurance
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Project Engineer (Signalling) to support the charge in revolutionising how we deliver Track Renewals Projects across the UK and to inspire the team in delivering a safe, quality, and efficient multi-disciplinary construction service to our Regional Customers.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects.
2. Monitor the competence of all Project Engineers working on projects within the functional discipline.
3. Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects and check whether all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards.
4. Apply relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to all projects.
5. Monitor all projects for compliance with Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards.
6. Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision.
7. Assure whether Contractors design, construction and specialist personnel are competent.
8. Undertake reviews of design and construction activities.
9. Undertake the duties of nominated design and construction / design construction engineer.
10. Undertake accident investigations when remitted to by the relevant designated competent person.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential
Significant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas.
Technical qualifications to at least HND level or equivalent.
Membership of a relevant professional institution.
Experience of major contracting.
Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.
Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of works.
Accident investigation experience.
Desirable
IRSE License.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Chartered status or equivalent.
Appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
