Our client, awarded a place on a £3.8bn 5-year Water framework in the South West, has opportunities for ambitious individuals to deliver high quality design and build civil engineering projects on time and within budget. This is a chance to join a global design consultancy working in partnership with a national delivery contractor.
As Project Design Engineer, the successful individuals will be joining a newly established team, where you will be an essential part of the delivery of projects from initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate the project team including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Process designers and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by each framework and industry specifications.
2. Work as part of a “project triangle” alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
3. Interact with the client and regularly visit site during the construction.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Strong communication skills.
2. An understanding of MEICA works (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) and how it interfaces with civils structures.
3. Extremely organised to ensure that the team stick to programme and ensure project progress.
4. Ideally degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar.
5. Experience working in a similar role for a civil engineering/construction company preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
1. £35,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on experience.
2. Matching pension contributions up to 7%.
