Product Owner (Social Care and Education)

Role Outline
The Product Owner will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including Product Management & Customers to understand what problems our customers face & why they need to be solved. They will understand in detail the requirements of our customers and be responsible for breaking these down & translating them to our Engineering teams to ensure that all are focused on delivering both customer and business benefits. Ability to work away from home and willingness to travel will be required at times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Gather requirements from Product Management and other stakeholders and own the conversion of these requirements into user stories + supporting documentation (e.g. Release Notes).
2. Be responsible for the determining of key features of initiatives / projects in a timely manner as part of Release Planning creating value for both the customer and the company.
3. Manage the product backlog, prioritising user stories for implementation and providing overall visibility to the backlog.
4. Act as liaison between Engineering and the user to interpret and relay clear use case and customer problems to the Engineering teams.
5. Work closely with Engineering + UI/UX, participating in scrum meetings and providing overall guidance to the Engineering teams, setting sprint goals, clarifying and articulating/documenting new user stories + acceptance criteria.
6. Working with Engineering to establish 'How' & 'When' key features will be delivered as part of a clear Release plan and be responsible for monitoring performance against the agreed release dates.
