We are recruiting skilled Welder/Fabricators to work on rail vehicles, handling both internal and external welding and fabrication to precise project specifications.
This role requires expertise in coded welding (135 MAG) and MIG welding, working with aluminium, stainless steel, and steel across a range of thicknesses (2mm-25mm).
Key Responsibilities:
* Welding to Standards - Coded 135 MAG semi-automatic welding to BS EN 287 standards.
* Material Expertise - Welding and fabricating components for corrosion repairs, body panels, brackets, structural beams, joints, and sole bars.
* Precision Work - Preparing materials using hand tools, buffing, and grinding for high-quality finishes.
* Inspection & Compliance - Following CSWIP welding inspection standards and completing all project documentation.
* Infrastructure Fabrication - Contributing to rail vehicle design and build projects.
* Teamwork & Adaptability - Supporting project teams and stepping into additional tasks as required during peak project periods.
What You'll Need:
* Time-served qualification in welding/fabrication from an accredited body.
* Strong experience in engineering or commercial fabrication.
* Prior experience working on vehicles or within heavy industry.
* Ability to work with detailed specifications and maintain high-quality standards.
* Problem-solving mindset - able to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
