Job Title: Intermediate/Senior Building Services Engineer Location: Norwich/Cambridge Salary: Up to £45k Your New Company The company is a growing and dynamic multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, providing a wide range of services across the majority of industry sectors, including commercial, health, education, defence, residential, and community development. Their services include architecture, building surveying, building services engineering, planning, interior design, sustainability, civil and structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management, CDM, and health and safety services. With offices in London, Billericay, Cambridge, Colchester, Norwich, and Oxford, and plans to open further sites in the future, the company aims to develop its national service. Your New Role As for the role at hand, they are currently recruiting an Intermediate or Senior Building Services Engineer with an electrical bias to join their Norwich office. The role involves providing engineering support to the practice, offering expertise in the field of M&E engineering in the built environment, and includes design and project management responsibilities. Ensure the successful completion of all projects to a high technical standard, within established timelines, and adhering to allocated budgets. Undertake fee-earning responsibilities, actively participating in scheme design when necessary, especially in cases demanding advanced technical expertise. Execute assigned tasks from the team leader, contributing to the development of robust engineering solutions that are cost-effective. Engage with clients to define project requirements and present budget estimates for their consideration. Develop comprehensive specifications and drawings aligned with client briefs. Evaluate received tenders, produce tender reports, and provide recommendations. Oversee site operations from initiation to conclusion as a project manager. Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with specifications and reach agreements on contractors final accounts. Conduct inspections of existing installations and generate condition reports. Verify and prepare monthly fee invoices. Achieve annual and monthly fee targets as outlined by the office partner. Key qualifications, expertise, and qualities: · Degree/master's in Engineering. · Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute (or equivalent) - Preferred. · Chartered Engineer status or in the process of obtaining it. · Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. · Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting deadlines. · Proficiency in the use of IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software. · Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit. · Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices.
