The Surveying Officer role in North Yorkshire involves supporting the management of the Council’s property portfolio, with a focus on learning and development. The Role You will assist in property valuation, data maintenance, and inspections, while supporting more senior staff with tasks like granting rights over Council land and property. As you gain experience, you will handle more complex tasks, including managing commercial properties, negotiating leases, and contributing to property strategies and regeneration projects. The post will champion hybrid working, combining working in the office, at home, and occasional site visits. The post holder will support the day-to-day estates and property management functions, providing property advisory and project support, working with surveyors and specialists to review and deliver property transactions. Examples of Top-level accountabilities · Supports the maximising of occupancy and commercial income generated from the Council’s transactional property portfolio by contributing to the negotiation of commercial terms, marketing and promotional campaigns. · Support cases affecting commercial property management, Landlord & Tenant negotiations, and leasing. · Keeps accurate and complete records consistent with legislation policies and procedures.
