14 hours per week (Saturdays 8.30-2.30 and Monday & Thursday 10-2)

Salary range £25,626.12 to £27,150.48 per annum – pro rata (hourly rate from £12.57 per hour)
We have an exciting opportunity for a café bar assistant to join our team in the Atrium Café Bar at The Lights. We are looking for someone motivated and positive about delivering excellent customer service and who enjoys interacting with customers. The role will assist with the theatre’s day-to-day food and beverage offer in the Atrium Café Bar in a professional manner, whilst continuously exceeding customer expectation.
You will serve customers, including operating the till, table service, barista machine and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and servery. Some basic food preparations may be required. A food hygiene certificate would be an advantage, but training is available.
You will deal with customers, business users and hirers on a regular basis and will be expected to provide significant attention, kindness and care to all, ensuring a positive impact.
To be successful in this role you will need strong hands-on skills, with an attention to detail and a drive to deliver high levels of customer service whilst keeping calm in busy situations. You will also collaborate with the wider front of house team to ensure excellent service across the venue. Experience in a similar environment is advantageous but not essential.
Please note that this is a part time post: Saturday 8.30 am – 2.30 pm, Monday 10 am – 2 pm and Thursday 10 am – 2 pm. Some flexibility to cover holidays and absence would be an advantage. This post may be available for a job share split between Saturdays and weekdays. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
