The Alma Road Surgery Romsey has a vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse with Chronic Disease management particularly Diabetes and Asthma to join our busy and friendly Nursing Team.
25 to 30 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday however negotiable)
Pay dependant on experience.
The role includes long term condition reviews (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma), Wound care, Cervical Screening, Contraception, Travel & Child Immunisations.
The Alma Road Surgery is in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Southampton and the New Forest with a list size of 15,700 patients.
We have 11 GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, Respiratory Nurse Lead, 2 Healthcare Assistants and 2 Phlebotomists.

Main duties of the job
Title: Practice Nurse
Responsible to: Practice Nurse Manager
Hours: 25-30 hours per week
Objective: To assess the nursing needs of patients and provide appropriate care/treatment adhering to practice policy and in accordance with NMC guidelines.
Duties:
1. Minor and Complex wound care / ulcer care
2. Compression Dressings
3. ECGs
4. Removal of sutures
5. To document the process of assessment, need and delivery of care
6. To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice following national, local and practice guidelines
7. To attend study sessions in order to keep up to date with current trends
8. To be willing to provide cover due to sickness or holiday
9. To comply with the Data Protection Act and maintain confidentiality at all times
10. To adhere to Practice policies for record keeping
11. Any other duty appropriate to the role as requested by the Practice Nurse Manager
