What you’lldo
We’re looking for someoneto understand the requirements and needs of our businessstakeholders. You’ll develop good relationships with them, formhypotheses, and identify suitable data and analytics solutions tomeet their needs and to achieve our businessstrategy.
You’ll also bemaintaining and developing external curiosity around new andemerging trends within data science, keeping up to date withemerging trends and tooling and sharing updates within and outsideof the team.
In addition,you’llbe:
* Proactivelybringing together financial, statistical, mathematical,machine-learning and software engineering skills to considermultiple solutions, techniques, andalgorithms
* Implementing ethically sound modelsend-to-end and applying a software engineering and productdevelopment lens to complex businessproblems
* Using your data translation skills towork closely with business stakeholders to define businessquestions, problems or opportunities that can be supported throughadvanced analytics
* Selecting, building,training, and testing complex machine models, considering modelvaluation, model risk, governance, and ethics throughout toimplement and scalemodels
The skillsyou’ll need
To be successfulin this role, you’ll need evidence of project implementation andwork experience gained in a data-analysis-related field as part ofa multi-disciplinary team. We’ll also expect you to hold anundergraduate or a master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, orevidence of equivalent practicalexperience.
You’ll also needexperience with statistical software, database languages, big datatechnologies, cloud environments and machine learning on large datasets. And we’ll look to you to bring the ability to demonstrateleadership, self-direction and a willingness to both teach othersand learn newtechniques.
Furthermore,you’llneed:
* Experience ofdeploying statistical machine learning models into a productionenvironment
* Experience of articulating andtranslating business questions and using statistical techniques toarrive at an answer using availabledata
* Effective verbal and written communicationskills and the ability to adapt communication style to a specificaudience
* Extensive work experience, includingexpertise with statistical data analysis, such as linear models,multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and samplingmethods
* Previous experience in risk management,capital management, or portfolio optimisation along with awillingness to learn
