Established in 2024, Curveball Publishing worked with acclaimed studio Wales Interactive to publish the physical releases of hit FPS Sker Ritual and the PS5 re-release of Maid of Sker and has several unannounced projects for 2025.
OVERVIEW
Curveball is looking for a Product Marketing Manager with a passion for video games to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast moving, successful and growing startup business within the video games sector.
This role will take the lead in planning, communicating, and executing global marketing campaigns for Curveball’s publishing division, using data to generate key insights and feed into product marketing strategies, as well as overseeing the go-to-market roadmaps for a diverse portfolio of published and distributed titles.
The successful candidate will have had several years’ experience working as a product or marketing manager. The Product Marketing Manager must be able to work in a highly cross-functional environment, and will need to be pro-active, detail-oriented, and a highly adaptable team player, with the potential to have a truly massive impact in a small but dynamic team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and deliver global, multi-channel marketing activations for the Curveball publishing product portfolio.
* Liaise with development teams to ensure timely release of products and assets.
* Liaise with other key stakeholders and partners to ensure that products are listed online for sale in timely fashion.
* Develop relationships with key existing and prospective partners, including developers, distributors, first-parties and agencies.
* Develop and execute marketing strategies to target key markets and audiences.
* Manage product marketing budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing ROI.
* Co-ordinate and oversee the production of marketing creative.
* Communicate marketing updates and activity to key stakeholders – e.g. clients, partners, group and sales teams.
* Track, analyse and report on marketing campaigns, ensuring that they are optimised for best possible performance.
* Liaise with the PR & Community Manager to develop and support communications strategies around Curveball titles.
* Working with the Senior Publishing manager, co-ordinate events attendance and on-site presence at events both domestic and international.
SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a product or marketing manager role, preferably with a similar role in games.
* Strategic product marketing experience – demonstrable experience of creating campaigns to take products to market.
* Experience of briefing and managing external agencies and/or freelancers.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs and Project Management software.
* In-depth knowledge of the video game industry, the Western games market and an appreciation of “what great looks like” when it comes to video games.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to track several projects over many months.
* Exceptional writing and communication skills.
DESIRABLES
* Degree or similar qualification in business or marketing field.
* Demonstrable experience of launching new games.
* Some proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular PhotoShop.
* A proactive and can-do approach.
* Comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
* A passion for video games, with a deep understanding of gaming communities and trends.
