Wage: National Minimum Wage - £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Role Overview
SRD Engineering is looking for a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Cleaner to maintain high cleanliness standards across our factory, including offices, toilets, canteen, inspection room, and communal areas. The ideal candidate will ensure a hygienic and safe working environment for all staff by following a structured cleaning routine.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitise offices, toilets, canteen, inspection room, and communal areas.
* Maintain cleanliness on the factory floor where necessary, ensuring a tidy and safe environment.
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all required areas.
* Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including doorknobs, handrails, and communal equipment.
* Replenish cleaning supplies, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitiser as needed.
* Remove waste and dispose of it safely in designated areas, ensuring recycling guidelines are followed.
* Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is required.
* Follow health and safety guidelines, using cleaning products safely and appropriately.
* Report any maintenance issues, damages, or hygiene concerns to management.
* Ensure compliance with company hygiene policies and standards.
* Secure all cleaning equipment and storage areas after each shift.
* Encourage a proactive approach to workplace safety, reporting and addressing hazards promptly.
Key Targets and Objectives
* Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness across all assigned areas.
* Complete all cleaning tasks efficiently within the designated shift time.
* Ensure cleaning supply levels are monitored and replenished promptly.
* Reduce the risk of health and safety hazards by keeping work areas clean and hazard-free.
* Follow all cleaning schedules as directed by management to maintain hygiene standards.
* Achieve positive feedback from staff and management regarding cleanliness and hygiene.
Review & Performance Assessment
* Regular performance reviews will be conducted to assess cleaning standards and efficiency.
* Feedback will be gathered from management and staff to ensure expectations are being met.
* Any areas for improvement will be discussed, with additional support or training provided if necessary.
* Adherence to health and safety regulations will be monitored and reviewed periodically.
* Continued employment and potential wage progression will be based on performance and reliability.
Requirements
* Previous cleaning experience in an industrial or commercial setting (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
* Reliability and punctuality.
* Willingness to work early mornings or evenings.
* Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
* Good physical stamina, as the role requires standing, bending, and lifting.
