ROLE TITLE: PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER REPORTING LINE:The Principal Systems Engineer will report to the Director of Technical Operations for Energy Solutions. LOCATION/BASE:The Companys offices are at Concourse 2, Queens Road, Titanic Quarter, Belfast. The companys manufacturing facility is close by at Unit 1 Oakbank, Channel Commercial Park, Queens Road, Belfast. DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW: Energy Solutions is a sub-systems solutions arm of Artemis Technologies, responsible for the delivery of Marine lithium-Ion battery and High-Power Charging systems. The group is growing its presence within the business and building on the technology modules developed in our vessel programmes, furthering development for the wider marine market. THE ROLE: This is a functional leadership role which will support the fast paced and exciting development of cutting-edge energy solutions for the marine market. You will use your experience in Systems Engineering delivery to ensure that New Product satisfies demanding performance, safety and quality requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead the development of and uphold core systems, engineering processes and capability within the business. Author, elicit and manage accurate stakeholder requirements for Energy Solution products. Perform / co-ordinate analysis of system requirements and lead activities such as Use Case analysis, functional analysis, robustness and safety analysis. Liaise with technical specialists, deliver the architectural design of Energy Solution products, to ensure robust system architecture which fulfils challenging stakeholder requirements. Produce and maintain tracible systems documentation such as User, Product and System Requirements Specifications. Maintain and interact with Systems Models, ensuring systems artifacts are generated, controlled and linked in a consistent manner across different projects. Requirements management through development and during the product lifecycle. Maintain familiarity with the tools and SW products required to correctly fulfill the system integration tests. Support the introduction of new technology and methods to the business where appropriate. Attend team and 1-1 meetings and fulfil reporting requirements as required by Artemis Technologies. Ensure compliance with Artemis Technologies Policies and Procedures. Build good working relationships across Artemis Technologies. Contribute to shaping a culture that reflects Artemis Technologies Values and Behaviours and enable the company to achieve its goals. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Education/Qualifications and Experience Required: Holder of a Bachelor (BSc /BEng) degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering). 5+ years working in a Systems Engineering or Control Engineering function with experience in electrification / e-mobility technology. Key Skills Required: Technical Skills: Systems Engineering within robust development & process frameworks (INCOSE, ASPICE etc.) Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and familiarity with SysML is desirable. Requirements management methods and tools. Experience with Enterprise Architect and Jama Connect is desirable. Application of Functional Safety and / or Cybersecurity. Technical / domain specialism in electrification technologies, particularly Lithium-Ion Battery Systems, Battery Management Systems and EV Charging Systems. Communication Skills: Good report writing skills clear, concise, and well structured. Excellent interpersonal skills. Organising Skills: Ability to coordinate with other departments and flag issues. A focus on delivery to an agreed schedule. Teamworking Skills: Ability to relate well to others, and build co-operative and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
