Main duties of the job
* Competence and experience in BMS transfer, embedding, microtomy skills, special stains techniques, frozen sections and Immunohistochemistry.
* Experience of operating, troubleshooting and maintaining complex laboratory equipment.
* Good understanding of basic physiology, pathology and scientific principles relevant to Histopathology.
* Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within the scope of practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.
* BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences (IBMS approved) or approved alternative science degree plus post graduate certificate in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
* IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology or equivalent level of knowledge.
Experience
* Minimum 2 years post registration laboratory training.
