Responsibilities:
1. Provide maintenance services in accordance with current best practices, policies, procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
2. Action both planned and reactive maintenance issues, prioritizing in terms of urgency.
3. Assist in assessing the effectiveness of maintenance implementation and delivery.
4. Implement actions to meet and maintain maintenance standards.
5. Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues that arise.
6. Ensure the Service Users’ rights are protected.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of the individuals supported.
8. Be involved in implementing and maintaining the service’s quality assurance programme.
9. Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation, and induction of all new employees.
10. Take responsibility for professional development through performance and development reviews and undertake any relevant training.
11. Maintain maintenance skills at a current level and undertake training and development as required to stay updated.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Building Maintenance Skills:
2. Plumbing, joinery, plastering skills.
3. Health and safety knowledge pertaining to building maintenance.
4. Painting and decorating skills.
5. Communication Skills:
6. Good English - Written and verbal.
7. Effective communication with Service Users and their visitors.
8. Attend Heads of Department meetings to represent Maintenance.
9. Proficient Written Skills:
10. Ensure accurate, legible maintenance schedules are completed and maintained.
11. Assist in formulating and implementing maintenance policies and procedures.
12. QCF Diplomas in Health and Social Care / HNC / City and Guilds in Maintenance or Building Services.
