Job Title: Family Hub Coach
Location: Newcastle Family Hub, ST5 6DH
Pay: £17.94 per hour
Contract: 6 months plus ongoing with a view to be extended
Are you passionate about supporting families and communities? Do you have experience working with children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes? Staffordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Family Hub Coach to work effectively with children and families, securing improved outcomes and reducing the need for specialist service interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Actively engage with children, young people, and their parents/carers to ensure appropriate access to early and statutory education.
2. Complete direct work, including emergency interventions, with families, maximising their involvement in accordance with the child's plan.
3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other locality providers.
4. Promote healthy lifestyles, positive peer/family relationships, and safe parenting while fostering an understanding of cultural and community identity.
5. Work assertively with families and other agencies to assess, provide, or coordinate targeted support.
6. Signpost children and young people to appropriate agencies and activities to enhance their life chances and outcomes.
7. Deliver evidence-based group work.
8. Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum NVQ Level 3 in working with children and their families or equivalent qualification/experience.
2. Solid experience working directly with children, their families, or carers in a relevant setting.
3. Understanding of child development, the effects of stress and trauma, and strategies to address these effects.
4. Knowledge of Safeguarding Procedures for Adults and Children.
5. Familiarity with key legislation governing children's safeguarding, welfare, and education.
6. Experience in delivering evidence-based parenting programs.
7. Understanding of multi-agency working and the role of different partners in supporting families.
