Description Join us as our Finance Assistant, based in our Bridgwater site covering across our existing distribution facilities in Avonmouth and Bridgwater. You’ll be adding great value as a key player in our team and central to the successful delivery of our journey. Wincanton provide supply chain management in warehousing and distribution for deliveries in to the Hinkley Point C build programme, a mega-project that is playing a crucial role in Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero. You’ll be reporting into our Infrastructure Finance Manager within this varied role, focusing on preparation of monthly finance reports, assisting with Ledger Account reconciliations, along with various other financial reporting and assistant responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of monthly reports in order to invoice the customer. Assisting with Ledger Account reconciliations aligned to the Management Accounts. Supporting the Finance Manager to ensure revenues and costs are captured and allocated accurately. Undertake nominal ledger tasks including processing journals, nominal ledger cross charges and period end reconciliations. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Reporting and monitoring of KPIs and non-financial information to support service delivery and contractual commitments. Assisting the Finance Manager with balance sheet preparation including robust reconciliations to support balances. Completion of monthly payroll reconciliations. Completion of regular large operational reconciliations. Supporting the Finance Managers with responsibilities across the infrastructure programme. Note: This is a hybrid role, with travel to Bridgwater 3 x per week. Due to the nature of our contract, this role requires a BPSS Security Clearance and CIBT Heal. What will you bring to our team? Passion for finance, studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualification. Strong communication skills and effective in building working relationships at various levels. Experience of working with a finance software package or ERP package. Work to a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and promote healthy and robust financial controls. Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards. Be flexible and respond quickly and positively to internal and external stakeholder requests. Have excellent IT skills and be able to understand and harness various systems to benefit the operation. Have commitment, passion and a progressive attitude for achievement. What do we offer?
