You will lead on the development, coordination, and implementation of the Specialist Diabetic Service within Maternity in conjunction with the Obstetric and Diabetes Lead providing expert and coordinating the care of patients with pre-existing and gestational diabetes. The post holder will provide effective leadership to the diabetes/pregnancy team and act as lead midwife on diabetes in maternity services. You will be involved in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines for pregnant women with diabetes and will work towards developing a structured approach in diabetes care to ensure a comprehensive, high quality diabetes service within maternity. The post holder will be a point of contact for diabetic patients and will be responsible for the support and advise on both diabetes control and midwifery care throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period.
