Experienced Finance / Accounts Manager required to join a SME construction company based in the Sittingbourne area of Kent, on a full time, permanent basis. This is a hands on Accounts position suitable for an experienced Management Accountant looking to work within a busy and fast paced office environment, working closely within the Company Directors and overseeing a small finance team.
Finance Manager Position Overview
This is an office based Accounts role, suitable for a qualified, part-qualified, or QBE finance Manager. You will be overseeing the company finances and liaising with the external accountant for year-end work. The company Directors are very hands on and you will become their trusted advisor for financial and commercial decisions.
1. Managing a small finance team
2. Ensuring the accuracy of all transactions and managing payment runs
3. Overseeing the credit control function
4. Managing foreign currency transactions and reviewing exchange rates
5. Preparing management accounts
6. Completing and submitting VAT returns
7. End - end payroll, processing staff salaries and wages
8. Producing monthly management accounts and cash flows
9. Financial forecasting and budgeting to support the Directors.
10. Overseeing all HMRC & Pension obligations
11. Liaising with the company's external Accountants and tax advisers
Finance Manager Position Requirements
1. Strong management accounts knowledge is essential for this role
2. Multiple currency experience advantageous but not essential
3. Sage accounts knowledge is essential
4. Experience managing a small office/accounts team highly desirable
5. Experience within the construction/engineering industry would be advantageous
Finance Manager Position Remuneration
1. HOURS: 8.00 - 4.30 MON TO FRI (1 HR LUNCH).
2. 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
