CME Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SET) to join the CME in Belfast. The successful candidate will work in the Credit Configuration team and help deliver mission-critical projects on CME's Globex electronic trading platform. As a SET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our systems. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, developers and other pods to create, execute and automate tests, identify defects and help in speeding up time to market. Responsibilities: Develop and execute automated and manual tests Identify, document and track defects Analyse and interpret business/stakeholder requirements; translate these requirements into test scenarios. Creation of test strategies, planning & execution/implementation of automated test cases. Work closely with the application teams to identify opportunities to provide innovative testing solutions, which enable teams to achieve goals of continuous delivery. Maintain test environments Contribute to and build test automation for application teams to use in testing our market leading applications, using object-oriented programming and scripting skills. Keep abreast with latest testing technologies and advocate for shift-left testing strategies. Work closely with developers and advise on appropriate tests to be implemented at the right stage of development lifecycle. Prior experience building out robust test automation and BDD frameworks Coding experience with Python, Java or other comparable object-oriented languages Strong SQL skills (Oracle / PostGreSQL) Familiarity with testing REST API's and API testing frameworks Experience of modern software development practices, incl tooling such as GIT Experience of modern continuous delivery pipelines, implemented with e.g., Jenkins, Argo, XLR Nice to have: Experience with Unit testing Experience of cloud technologies, ideally GCP/GKE Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka. Experience with Kubernetes / Docker.
